Overview

Invoicely is a complete, self-hosted invoicing app for freelancers and small studios who want real invoice numbers, real payment tracking, and a real PDF to send clients, without the monthly fee of a SaaS tool. It's built on clean Laravel conventions from the ground up: no bloated starter kit, no unnecessary dependencies, nothing to strip out before you make it yours.

Features

- Hand-rolled authentication. No Breeze or Jetstream bloat, just a clean session-based login you can read top to bottom in five minutes. Seeded with an owner and a bookkeeper account to show multi-user support out of the box.
- Client management. Name, company, email, and address, with a full invoice history and lifetime billed and paid totals on every client's page.
- Invoices with dynamic line items. Add as many line items as a job needs. Subtotal, tax, and total recalculate live in the browser and are re-verified authoritatively on the server every time you save.
- Real payment tracking. Record payments against an invoice (amount, date, method) and watch the status move itself: Draft to Sent to Partially Paid to Paid, computed from the actual payment trail, never a checkbox you forget to tick.
- Automatic overdue detection. Any open invoice past its due date shows as Overdue everywhere in the app, calculated live from the due date rather than a status that goes stale.
- Professional PDF export. A polished, print-ready invoice PDF (line items, totals, tax, payment history) generated server-side with barryvdh/laravel-dompdf. No third-party API, no watermark, no extra setup.
- Five languages out of the box. English, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Turkish, with a language switcher on every page including login. Arabic ships with a full right-to-left layout and a properly shaped Arabic PDF export, so invoices read correctly for Arabic-speaking clients too.
- Dashboard that means something. Outstanding balance, overdue value and count, amount collected this month, and a live feed of recent invoices, all pulled from real data.
- Filterable invoice list. Filter by status, client, and issue-date range, paginated for when your book of business grows past one screen.
- Demo data included. 22 clients and 68 invoices across every status with a realistic line-item and payment history, so the app looks alive the moment you log in.

Tech Stack

Laravel 13, Eloquent ORM, Blade, MySQL/SQLite, barryvdh/laravel-dompdf, Tailwind CSS. Localized into English, Arabic, French, Spanish, and Turkish, with right-to-left support for Arabic.
